THE ZOONYMIC COMPONENTS IN THE MULTI-COMPOUND PHYTONYMS OF THE AZERBAICANI LANGUAGE

Abstract
In Azerbaijani the names of plants is not well investigated area of the lexicology, especially the names of plants, which consist of two and more components. The article is devoted to the zoonymic component in the multi-compound phytonyms of the Azerbaijani language. The basis of this type of phytonyms is metaphor, i.e. a similarity of plants and animals or their properties reflected in the names of plants. We mention four structural types of phytonyms by J. Dmitrieva’s classification as well as the basic principles of nomination, which are distinctive for this type of phytonyms.
