THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPT OF «CONSTITUTION»

Abstract
The article carries out the etymological analysis of the concept «constitution» and identifies the historical stages of its formation. The ratio of terms „constitution” and „basic law” is defined. The properties of the constitution as a normative legal act of a higher power are certified by the term „basic law”, which, above all, has a doctrinal meaning. At the same time, the term „basic law” is the official name of the constitution itself in some states.
