Abstract

The article is based on analysis of terminology the essence of the concept of "control in local government." An different approaches in determining the merits of control scientists, given the urgency and importance of control especially in state and local authorities. Deals with the principles of control in public administration. The characteristic features of control over the activities of local authorities. Emphasized the role of monitoring the activities of the public administration. Generalized analysis of scientific and academic sources suggests the complexity of the concept of control in public administration, that control is regarded as one of the principles of functioning of the state; as a method of management; as a form of government; as a function of management; as a legal form of public bodies. Control is multifaceted legal phenomenon, including and on the activities of local authorities. Control – a function of the state and society, their institutions and structures is to use a variety of supervisory and evaluation mechanisms for the activities of organs, agencies, organizations and personal fulfillment, compliance with laws and different rules may be established as state and private organization performance standards for discipline, performance and management.
