THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE SOCIAL INSURANCE SYSTEM FUNCTIONING

Abstract
The article investigates historical preconditions of the social insurance system formation. The main scientific approaches towards the determination of the essence of social insurance have been generalized. Types and forms of social insurance have been analyzed; their specific character has been defined. The main principles of social insurance have been distinguished. The author’s interpretation of the essence of scientific category “social insurance” has been proposed.
