THEORETICAL BASES OF FOOD SECURITY EVALUATION AS AN OBJECT OF STATISTICAL OBSERVATION

Abstract
In the article described theoretical bases of food security evaluation, its objectives and principles of formation. The essence of such categories as “food security” in the broad and narrow meaning, “food security in the context of sustainable development” and their components and measuring indicators are explored in detail for statistical analysis of food security. Based on the data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine a statistical analysis of the basic food-stuffs consumption was carried out as one of key indicators of food security.
