Theoretical bases of state regulation of transport

Abstract
The article substantiates the theoretical and conceptual foundations of the formation of the mechanism of state regulation of railway transport as a component of the economy of Ukraine. The composition of the factors that determine the necessity of state regulation of the economy, in particular, and railway transport, is determined: general political approaches to the development of a particular sphere; historical management traditions; the prevailing concept of economic policy and practice; cultural values, stereotypes and approaches to the role of the state in achieving social development; geopolitical factors; level of development of productive forces and production relations; the effectiveness of market mechanisms, government and state regulation.
