Theory Reviews - Hardware and Software Support for Testing Material on Specimens of the Small Cross Section
Journal Title: Tribology in Industry - Year 2019, Vol 41, Issue 1
Abstract
Testing techniques to obtain the mechanical properties of materials on specimens of the small cross section (miniature specimen) become the subject of numerous researches due to several advantages, in economic and organizational terms. This paper presents the model of the tensile testing device for materials on the specimens of the small cross section, its hardware and software basis. The device proved to be very reliable, so it is suitable for testing the mechanical characteristics of the material, just like the one used for the demonstration of material testing for students.

Tribological Properties of Silicone Rubber-Based Ceramizable Composites Destined for Wire Covers. Part II. Studies of Ball-on-Plate, Plate-on-Plate and Ring-on-Plate Friction Contact
Tribological properties of commercially available silicone-based ceramizable composites were studied. Friction forces of three different types of ceramizable composites were measured against three different-shape steel s...
Evaluation of Oil Film Pressure and Temperature of an Elliptical Journal Bearing - An Experimental Study
The present study is aimed at experimental evaluation of both oil film pressure and temperature at the central plane of finite elliptical journal bearing configuration. These parameters have been obtained by running the...
Vanadium Alloyed PVD CrAlN Coatings for Friction Reduction in Metal Forming Applications
Hard coatings deposited on forming tools are used to improve the forming process and to increase tool life. The decrease of tool wear and reduction of friction are the main motivations for the development of self-lubrica...
Emission and Friction Analysis of IC Engine Running in Methanol Blend
Emission and friction are considered to be the significant contributors towards engine parasitic losses. Inherent engine design responsible for such irregularities is difficult to eliminate totally, as millions of engine...
The Control of the Lubricant Film by the Resistive Method for Scuffing
The existence of a continuous film of lubricant increases the electrical resistance of the contact that can provide information on the quality of contact’s lubrication. This paper presents some experimental results obtai...
