THERMAL ANNEALING KINETICS OF RADICALS FORMED BY THE RADIOLYSIS IN POLYCRYSTALLINE SOLID STATE OF ARGININE

Abstract

The radiolysis with gamma radiation of arginine, in solid polycrystalline state, was performed at room temperature. The EPR spectra, recorded after radiolysis allowed the identification of three paramagnetic centers. A possible mechanism of formation of the three radical species is suggested, based on literature data. It was established a third order kinetics for the thermal annealing process.
