THIN FILMS FLOW DRIVEN BY GRAVITY AND A SURFACE TENSION GRADIENT
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2009, Vol 54, Issue 2
Abstract
The flow of a thin layer on a horizontal plate in the lubrication approximation is considered. The flow is driven simultaneously by gravity and some gradients of surface tension. These gradients imply a non-zero tangential stress boundary condition (Marangoni effect).

TRIBOMECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CHROMIUM NITRIDE THIN FILMS DEPOSITED AT DIFFERENT PARAMETERS
Different nitride thin films are widely used in applications for cutting tools, biomedicine, and microelectronics and so on. This study is a research on chromium nitride thin films deposited by direct current magnetron s...
VIBRATIONS ANALYSIS OF A MECHANICAL SYSTEM CONSISTING OF TWO IDENTICAL PARTS
In many technical applications (like those in automotive engineering or in structural mechanics) the mechanical system studied can be considered composed by two or many identical subsystems or parts. These kind of symmet...
DYNAMICS OF A 2-DOF ORIENTING GEAR MECHANISM
Recursive matrix relations for the kinematics and the dynamics analysis of a 2-DOF orienting gear train are established in this paper. The mechanism is a parallel system with five moving links and three bevel gear pairs...
DISCRETE MATHEMATICAL FILTERS OF VIDEO INFORMATION PROCESSING FOR AUTOMATIC IMAGE COMPONENTS DETECTION AND MARKING
In this paper we shall discretize two classes of mathematical filters intended for the video image analysis with the purpose to automatically detect and mark the components that these images contain. Unlike the classical...
ROBUST CONTROL FOR HAPTIC-BASED ROBOTIC TELEOPERATION
The paper deals with teleoperated robotic systems that are commanded by a human operator via interface that provides task feedback information. In order to successfully perform challenging tasks, not only visual, but als...
