THROMBOEMBOLIC COMPLICATIONS IN PERFORATED GASTRODUODENAL ULCERS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COAGULATION AND ANTICOAGULATION SYSTEMS OF BLOOD (LITERATURE REVIEW)

Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 4

Abstract

The authors report that currently, perforation of gastroduodenal ulcers is the second most common complication of peptic ulcer disease, with an incidence ranging from 2% to 32%. Postoperative complications occur in 30% of cases, and mortality after surgery ranges from 15.5% to 31%. The authors conclude that for patients in the high-risk group, the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (and, consequently, pulmonary embolism) should be considered. However, the existing drug regimens for this condition are not sufficiently effective, and the methods of preventing thromboembolic complications are often carried out without considering the state of the coagulation and anticoagulation systems of the blood, highlighting the need for further research in this area.
