TO THE PROBLEM OF STUDY OF RENARRATION SENTENCES IN UKRAINIAN LINGUISTICS

Abstract
The article defines the place of renarrative sentences in linguistic studies - the lexical-grammatical markers of renarration (particles, expletive words, simple sentences, coordinate or subordinate parts of complex utterances, etc.) are analyzed; structural and semantic parameters, communicative features and perspectives of study of renarrative modality in the artistic text are outlined. Polyparadigmatic vector of modern Ukrainian linguistics determines the development of research aimed at studying functional potential of various linguistic units in different styles and genres of the Ukrainian language. Renarrative constructions were the subject matter of many linguistic studies (works by V. Simovych, S. Smal-Stotskyi, F. Gartner, S. Smerechynskyi, I. Ohiienko, O. Volokh, M. Karanska, I. Yuschuk, O. Ponomarev, A. Zagnitko, N. Guivanyuk, R. Khristianinova, S. Shabat-Savka, etc.). Renarrative sentences are modal-intentional statements, the communicative purpose of which is not to reveal the speaker’s personal experience but to retell others’ observation and inferences. They form a separate communicative-functional type of sentences next to the narrative ones. To ensure that the process of language interaction is successful, the speaker, in particular the narrator, uses the optimal form and means of thought expression , using a foreign language as an instrument of influence that helps the narrator express his/her speech intention. The means of conveying others’ speech most often referred to are reported speech, semi-direct speech, free direct speech, free indirect speech, quotes, embedded speech, represented speech, implied direct speech, etc. Among the structural and semantic parameters of narrative sentences, syntacticians have identified lexical and grammatical means and intentional markers, but in Ukrainian linguistics, the study of their functional parameters in various discursive-genre manifestations of the Ukrainian language has not been conducted.
