TOKEN IN THE INITIAL COIN OFFERING (ICO): THEORETICAL ASPECTS AND ITS PLACE IN THE FINANCIAL AND MONEY MARKETS

Abstract
The systemized definition of the category of ‘token’ in the initial coin offering (ICO) is provided. The existing classifications of tokens are analyzed and their debatable aspects are highlighted. The ways for token valuation are summarized. The places of tokens in the financial and money markets are established and characterized with tokens’ dual nature: ‘token as money’ and ‘token as capital’.
