Tourism Support Act as Premise of a Successful Destination Marketing Management System

Abstract

The paper is focused on the development process of the legislative act for tourism support (tourism support act) and its significance for destination marketing management. The paper takes advantage of some example of tourism acts from abroad, esp. of the canton of Wallis (Switzerland) and as a supplementary example the Austrian federal land of Tyrol. The aim of the article is to point out critical issues in the law development process and the effects of the mentioned legislative act for the marketing management of respective tourism destination. The paper tries to show the crucial factors affecting the development process of suchlike acts making use of the example of the proper revision of Tourism law in Wallis that was refused in the referendum. The paper closes with a set of factors and recommendations that are essential for the upcoming development procedure of the tourism act with regard to the destination marketing management in the Czech Republic.
