Journal Title: Journal of Social Economics - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 3

Abstract

This paper review neoclassical theories on economic growth and the transition from these theories to the sustainable development theories. The application of these theories into the case of China is analyzed. An empirical study on the effects of various environmental degradation caused by industrial pollutants are then performed. Finally, suggestions to the social planners in China for a more accurate calculating of the true growth rate of real GDP, called „green” GDP, are provided.
