TRANSFORMATION OF SECURITY STUDIES IN CASE OF COPENHAGEN SCHOOL'S SOCIETAL SECURITY

Abstract
This study examines the changing agenda in the field of security studies. It provides an in-depth analysis of the Copenhagen School’s contribution to the field of security studies. The purpose is to comprehend how to emerge intra-state conflicts. By prescribing to a Constructivist approach, the purpose of this study is to explain how social security cause of conflicts among the security agendas that military, environment, social, political, economical. This paper contributes to the field of security studies in a number of ways. First of all, it moves away from realism’s exaggerated focus on the security dilemma’s implications on inter-state conflicts. It seeks instead to shed light on the ways in which security dilemma affects intra-state conflicts. Second of all, it argues that social security is deeply embedded in identity. This is important as it allows us to understand how social insecurities erupt based on the perception of threat among warring identity groups.
