Abstract

According to Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky, who is an author intuitively and gracefully apprehends and handles the depressed moments occuring in community and individual lives, life is quite far from being calm and compatible. Thus the most frequently used verb is irritability while expressing the depressed mood of the hero Raskolnikov in the novel “Crime and Punishment” via which the great Russian author pursues the psychological process of crime. Dostoyevsky reveals that Raskolnikov is a nervous young man by using the verbs “раздражаться” (ing. become irritated, to get angry) which we can translate into Turkish as kızmak, sinirlenmek, “раздразнить” (ing. to irritate, to provoke, to nettle) which we can translate as kızdırmak, sinirlendirmek; öfkelendirmek and “раздражать”, “раздражить” (ing. to irritate, to annoy, to provoke) which we can translate as kızdırmak, sinirlendirmek; öfkelendirmek, sinirlerine dokunmak. In what way correspond the verbs “раздражаться”, “раздразнить”, “раздражать”, “раздражить” using by Dostoyevsky for revealing the depressed mood of the hero Raskolnikov in the novel “Crime and Punishment” into Turkish will be discoursed in this work
