Abstract
The aim of this practical study is to shed the light on the translation procedures employed by André Du Ryer Sieur de Malzaire, the first translator of the Quran into French in 1647, by confronting some Quranic verses with the target text, and determine the motives, finalities and ideological aspects of his translation, through the analysis of the paratextual elements.
