Tribological Behaviour of Nitrocarburized Steels after Thermo-Magnetic Treatments
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2008, Vol 31, Issue 1
Abstract
Two types of steels were subjected to a nitro-carburized thermo-chemical treatment after thermo-magnetic treatments. The structural aspects into the superficial layer of these steels are studied during the friction process using an Amsler machine, taking two sliding degrees, different contact pressures and testing time. It was determined the durability of these materials, the surface structure evolution at different tests after thermo-magnetic treatments. The performed tests allowed to establish the influence of the thermal, magnetic and mechanical parameters on the behavior of these two steels taken for study during the friction process.

Materials Used for Manufacturing Some Objects from 1600 before Christ – 500 after Christ Period
The appearance and the spreading of metallic objects produced a profound social change. The early metallurgy included two ages: The Bronze Age and The Iron Age. The late Bronze Age is considered to be the most important...
Analysis Frequencies of a Vibration-Type Structure Hall
Its main purpose was to identify natural vibration frequencies for a warehouse type structure in order to avoid resonance phenomena of the structure. The analysis is performed using the finite element analysis module of...
Influence of the Nanoparticles Size on the Permeation Properties of the Polymeric Membranes
In this study, polyethersulfone (PES) membranes blended with zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO) were manufactured by diffusion induced phase inversion in NMethyl-pyrrolidone (NMP) as solvent and deionized water as coagulant,...
Physical-Chemical Properties of (Cu-Sn) -Mo Composite Materials
The article is devoted to the study of corrosive and thermal stability of materials composition on the basis of copper, obtained by the EB-PVD method. It is shown in this work that corrosion of (Cu-Sn)–Mo composites have...
Characterization of Thick Hard Layers with Ni-Cr-B-Fe-Al Alloy Obtained by Laser Cladding
To increase the resistance to wear and corrosion of the surface layers made from steel with 0.45% C, multilayer deposition was tested by injection of powder with chemical composition of 8.9% Cr, 4.5% Fe, 5.1% B, 2, 4% Al...
