Abstract
Nowadays Ukrainian contemporary art attempts to adapt actively to the renovated art space over the years of independence with its diverse styles, trends and influences. M. Kuziv belongs to those artists who are aware and appreciate the originality and integrity of the Ukrainian culture, its great and spiritual potential. As a universal creative personality, the artist represents the best values of the Ukrainian art at the turn of XX – XXI centuries, in the era of post avant-garde art and global changes that have occurred in the system of general aesthetic culture of Europe. The author’s stylistic searches are manifested in the field of monumental painting, architecture, art of photography (photographic moments are tangled with abstract episodes on canvas). The artist is trying himself in completely new for his work artistic and experimental techniques of oil painting on glass. The artist works in avant-garde direction the significant part of creative path, where his creative ideas are depicted on the verge of geometric abstraction, and the dynamic color scheme, destruction of real figurative motifs express the characteristic features of expressionism, as well as unexpected combinations of images embodied in surrealistic laws.
