Ukraine on the Civilization Map of the Modern World: Historical Experience and Realities of the Present
Journal Title: Українознавство - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 65
Abstract
The paper deals with a peculiar interpretation of the cultural locus of Ukraine in the classic cultural and civilization conceptions of O. Spengler and A. J. Toynbee. Despite some simplifications and very general conclusions, it shows that these conceptions still remain influential not only within the academic disciplines “history” or “cultural studies” but also in the present geopolitical discourse.
