Ukrainian judicial discourse: aspects of linguopragmatic research and essential characteristics

Abstract
This article is dedicated to an overview of the scientific concepts of court discourse as a type of legal discourse and eliciting of institutional actions of the participants to communicate in situations of hearing. A survey is done connected to modern linguists’ basic points of view on the problem of determining the legal discourse, including thoroughly presented linguistic aspects of communication in court. Methodological approaches to the analysis of court discourse are distracted, among which a priority is given to linguopragmatic methodology of the research of communication between the participants of court discourse. The main theoretical works of Ukrainian and foreign linguists, who presented solutions to linguopragmatic problems of court discourse, are considered. Approaches to isolating the essential characteristics of court discourse are generalized and own typology of signs of court communications is offered.
