UKRAINIAN LAND PROBLEM IN MEMORY OF THE FUTURE

Journal Title: Наукові праці. Серія "Філософія" - Year 2017, Vol 300, Issue 288

Abstract

The problem of the land reform is an exceedingly complex topic. The social, political and economic aspects of the problem are analyzed in details. Less attention is paid to the issue of the land reform in terms of the spiritual foundations of the Ukrainian nation. Purpose. The article is a study of historical continuity, scale of the consequences of the destruction of the spiritual foundations of the nation as a result of Bolshevik collectivization and current reform. Method. Analyzing not only economic problems of land reform, but also other aspects such as the spiritual foundations of the Ukrainian nation from the point of view of philosophical reflection helps determine the facts and understand their deep essence better. Results. Bolsheviks had to deal with a socio-cultural world of free farmers which brought up in the peasant culture with its special values and moral standards based on an exclusive identity of the agricultural activity in the Ukrainian village. For the majority of Ukrainian peasants the Bolshevik collectivist form of government from the beginning were organically unacceptable. Today’s technological conditions of life in every way alienates the ground, and modern man increasingly gets into a situation observer, not a full and responsible owner. Originality. The article demonstrates that the awareness of the people’s roots fastens the organic relationship between the spiritual life principles and national identity mechanisms and helps each Ukrainian understand the meaning of their existence in time and space and identify themselves with the nation. Conclusion. Ukrainians are a grain-grower nation. Archetype land passes through the whole array of Ukrainian history of spirituality. Therefore, land reform should be seen not only and not so much from the economic side, and, above all, from the mental side.
