UKRAINIAN ONOMASTIC LANDSCAPE IN INTERNET

Abstract
The article dwells on the analysis of the most popular Internet queries in the Ukrainian Internet segment in 2013. In the case study at hand the focus is proper names which constitute onomastic landscape. The source of information for the corpus under analysis is service Google Zeitgeist. The principle of work is to gather information and analyse it while excluding spam facts and repeated or very similar queries. As the Internet is becoming popular among different age and social strata it is highly likely to show the accurate picture of onomastic trends in Ukraine. In 2013 Ukrainians searched mostly for entertaining domestic and Hollywood shows. Not surprisingly, the show business stars were among the top searches as they are the most active in Ukrainian media. Ukrainian onomastic landscape is assimilating the worldwide trends and at the same time is expanding the part of domestic issues, shows, stars.
