Underwater wireless video communication in operations of AUV/UUVs – new horizon of underwater explorations

Abstract
This article presents the experience of BaltRo-botics® in the development, production and testing of wireless underwater acoustic video communications − unique in the world technology today. It is also considered the use of wireless underwater video implementation in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV’s) as applied to perform inspections of underwater oil and gas pipelines and other applications. The achieved characteristics, limitations and coming prospects were presented.
