Abstract
This paper analyses the unpublished and previously unstudied sketch “Story of Prison Life” (on the draft inscription by the author’s hand “material of an autobiographical character”) by Boris Grinchenko and published in 1904 novel “Apple blossom” by Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky. The “Story of Prison Life” had found in the funds of the Institute of Manuscripts of the National Library of Ukraine named after V. Vernadsky.
