Unsteady Numerical simulation of turbulentforced convection in a rectangular pipe provided with inclined porous baffles
Journal Title: Journal of New technology and Materials - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
This study presents an Unsteady Numerical simulation of turbulent forced convection in a rectangular pipe with inclined porous baffles. An Unsteady Numerical simulation was carried out to study the thermal performances of a rectangular pipe with the porous baffles of a different angle. The porous baffles which are arranged on the bottom and top channel wall in a periodically way. This technique is used to increase the heat transfer coefficient the fluid (air). We solved numerically, by the finite volumes method, the equations of conservation, of the mass, the momentums equations, and energy. The Reynolds number the 10000-50000 a k -ε turbulent model was adopted for the taking into account of turbulent. The velocity, pressure, and terms of momentum equations are solved by algorithm SIMPLEC. The parameters studied include the entrance mass flow fluid rate, the unsteady regime of fluid. The influence of mass flow rate of air, the axial velocity and time. The efficiency of rectangular pipe with inclined porous baffles numerically Unsteady. The results show that the flow and heat transfer characteristics are strongly dependent on the mass flow rate of air and the geometry of the porous baffles and the inclined porous baffle. It was observed that increasing the parameters Reynolds number will decrease the Nusselt number, as expected. Keywords

Effect of fin spacing on turbulent heat transfer in a channel with cascaded rectangular-triangular fins
Through this work, we performed a two-dimensional analysis of a constant property fluid (air) flowing into a rectangular cross section channel with staggered cascaded rectangular-triangular shaped fins (CRTFs). The gover...
Evolution of A Synthetic Fluid From Water Extract From Fermented Ground Maize (WEFGM) As An Alternative To Water-Based Cutting Fluids:Properties Analysis,
Relevant properties of synthetic fluid samples formulated using deionized water, Water Extract from Fermented Ground Maize (WEFGM) and deionized WEFGM as base fluids at 5 and 10%vol additives have been evaluated. The pH...
Hydrodynamic parameters of soluble salts transfer in soils case of the Ourlana palm grove, Algeria
In arid areas, reclaimed lands suffer from a major problem of secondary soil salinity, due to a bad water resources management and the presence of a shallow water table. In order to determine the amount of water that req...
The heterostructure ZnO/Al/SiO2/Si fabrication for Piezoelectric SAW and BAW Transducers and Sensors
Zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films were deposited by pulsed laser deposition technique for making ZnO/Al/SiO2/Si Bulk and Surface Acoustic Wave (BAW and SAW) transducers. The aim is to improve the piezoelectric properties of th...
Numerical Analysis Of Turbulent Forced-Convection Flow In A Channel With Staggered L-Shaped Baffles
Characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer are analyzed for a constant property fluid flowing turbulently through a two-dimensional horizontal rectangular cross section channel with staggered, transverse L-shaped ba...
