Unsteady Numerical simulation of turbulentforced convection in a rectangular pipe provided with inclined porous baffles
Journal Title: Journal of New technology and Materials - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
This study presents an Unsteady Numerical simulation of turbulent forced convection in a rectangular pipe with inclined porous baffles. An Unsteady Numerical simulation was carried out to study the thermal performances of a rectangular pipe with the porous baffles of a different angle. The porous baffles which are arranged on the bottom and top channel wall in a periodically way. This technique is used to increase the heat transfer coefficient the fluid (air). We solved numerically, by the finite volumes method, the equations of conservation, of the mass, the momentums equations, and energy. The Reynolds number the 10000-50000 a k -ε turbulent model was adopted for the taking into account of turbulent. The velocity, pressure, and terms of momentum equations are solved by algorithm SIMPLEC. The parameters studied include the entrance mass flow fluid rate, the unsteady regime of fluid. The influence of mass flow rate of air, the axial velocity and time. The efficiency of rectangular pipe with inclined porous baffles numerically Unsteady. The results show that the flow and heat transfer characteristics are strongly dependent on the mass flow rate of air and the geometry of the porous baffles and the inclined porous baffle. It was observed that increasing the parameters Reynolds number will decrease the Nusselt number, as expected. Keywords

Comparison between the microstructural, morphological, mechanical and tribological characteristics of nanocrystalline Ni and Ni-Co electrodeposited coatings
For improving the wear resistance of steel used commonly in industry, nanocrystalline nickel and nickel-cobalt coatings are electrodeposited on A60 steel substrate in a modified Watts bath. The observation of the coating...
Effects of Nickel substitution on crystalline structure and superconducting properties of YBa2Cu3O7- ceramics.
In this study, nickel-substituted Y〖Ba〗_2 (〖Cu〗_(1-x) 〖Ni〗_x )_3 O_(7-δ) ( 0 ≤x ≤4 at.%) superconductor samples were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction method. The effects of Ni substitution on the s...
Modeling of 2D photonic crystals waveguides
Abstract Photonic crystals are nanometric structures which are composed of periodic elements of different permittivity in two or three dimensions. The periodic variation of the refractive index prevents the propagation o...
Effect of fin spacing on turbulent heat transfer in a channel with cascaded rectangular-triangular fins
Through this work, we performed a two-dimensional analysis of a constant property fluid (air) flowing into a rectangular cross section channel with staggered cascaded rectangular-triangular shaped fins (CRTFs). The gover...
High transparency of ZnO:In coated glass substrates
Undoped and heavily indium doped ZnO were deposited by dip-coating sol-gel method on glass substrates. When undoped ZnO was deposited the maximum value of transmittance decreases from 91% for bare substrate to less than...
