USE OF AMPLITUDE ESTIMATES AND NONDIMENSIONAL DISCRIMINANTS OF VIBROACOUSTIC SIGNAL FOR DETECTION OF OPERATIONAL WEAR OF ROLLING BEARINGS

Abstract
Current paper presents analysis of experimental investigation results. Car alternator was equipped either with new or used (aged) rolling bearings. Investigation was aimed at finding change of values of selected amplitude estimates and nondimensional discriminates of vibroacoustic signals for each bearing type. On the basis of analyses run for different rotational speeds of alternator rotor it may be stated that a significant change is observed in crest factor, clearance factor and impulse factor only in case of signal recorded at housing of the bearing, which was closer to belt transmission. This change is due to operational wear of alternator bearings.
