Use of the first two stages of acoustic examination of rooms of auditoriums by the example of a dramatic theater for 500 seats

Abstract

The authors consider the main results of the application of the first stages of the acoustical examination of premises using the example of a dramatic theater for 500 seats. The analysis and substantiation of the main factors affecting the acoustic properties of the room are carried out. An algorithm for the sequential application of three theories of the propagation of sound waves in a room is described. The use of the statistical theory made it possible to analyze solutions for processing sound-absorbing materials of the enclosing surfaces of the room in order to ensure the optimum frequency dependence of the reverberation time. Using the geometric theory allowed to analyze existing architectural and building solutions, develop recommendations for the third stage of the examination.
