USING A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO IDENTIFY FEATURES OF REGIONAL SETTLEMENT SYSTEM (FOR EXAMPLE KHARKIV REGION)

Abstract
The article deals with interdisciplinary scientific approaches to the study of regional settlement systems. In particular, system, synergetic and informational approaches are described. Theoretical aspects of these approaches in complex social and geographical research is given. The role of system, information and syn- ergistic approach in the study of regional settlement system is defined. For example of Kharkiv region settle- ment system the basic sociosystem characteristics of the regional settlement system are determined.
