Using Smart PLS-SEM in Examining the Repercussion of Corporate Governance Mechanisms on Bank Performance

Abstract
This study covers an examination of the monitoring and control mechanisms of corporate governance on Islamic economic performance (IEP) amongst all Islamic financial institutions in Malaysia via Smart PLS SEM software. The Islamic economic performance is also known as M Score developed by Memiyanty et al. in 2016 has been used in this study as a performance measurement for Islamic institutions. Corporate governance mechanisms (CGM) be composed of the size of the board of directors (BOD), the proportion of independent non-executive directors (INED), board meeting (BM) and board competency (BC). The findings of this study offer a significant signal to the corporate world on how the key players are having a crucial role in assimilating Islamic moral values and ethics in their decision-making process.
