Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences (IOSR-JDMS) - Year 2018, Vol 17, Issue 7
Abstract
Objective: To identify trends inoccupational therapy research over ten yearsusing text analytic tools. Methods: Articles published in the American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT) from 2007-2016 were retrieved from Pubmed and compiled in a database. The most frequently occurring words in the titles of these articles wereanalyzed using text analytics. Results: Based on the analysis of journal article titles, the most striking trendsthat were observed were a substantial increase in the number of articles related to intervention and assessment in children and adults, and a growing emphasis on the publication of systematic reviews. Conclusion: While this study provides a valuable insight into the trends in occupational therapy research, it does not elucidate the specific contents of these articles. Hence, more detailed investigations are necessary to identify the specific direction of occupational therapy research.
