USING THE VIDEOEXTENSOMETRY AND UCI - HARDNESS FOR MONITORING OF AUTOMOTIVE STEEL SHEETS
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2011, Vol 18, Issue 3
Abstract
The paper deals with examination of relation between the hardness and the size of plastic zone during the tensile loading. UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) micro-hardness method was used for hardness measurements. Deformation was evaluated by non-contact extensometry method – videoextensometry. The result present existence of the power lawl relation between hardness and plastic deformation: HV = HV[sub]p[/sub]+ kε[sup]α[/sup]. Hot rolled sheet and thin automotive sheet were investigated.

The influence of heat treatment on properties of lead-free solders
The article is focused on the analysis of degradation of properties of two eutectic lead-free solders SnCu0.7 and SnAg3.5Cu0.7. The microstructures of the intermetallic compound (IMC) layers at the copper substrate - sol...
DETERMINATION OF STATIC LIMITING LOAD CURVES FOR SLEWING BEARING WITH APPLICATION OF THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD
In slewing bearings, a great number of contact pairs are present on the contact surfaces between the rolling elements and raceways of the bearing. Computations to determine the load of the individual rolling elements, ta...
FRACTURE BEHAVIOUR OF P/M Cr-V LEDEBURITIC STEEL WITH DIFFERENT SURFACE ROUGHNESS
The samples made from the Vanadis 6 PM ledeburitic tool steel were surface machined to different quality and heat treated by standard regime of the processing. Three point bending tests were carried out on processed samp...
EVOLUTION OF MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ULTRA-FINE-GRAINED INTERSTITIAL-FREE STEEL PROCESSED BY EQUAL CHANNEL ANGULAR PRESSING
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is one of the severe plastic deformation techniques which is widely used for producing metals with ultra-fine-grained microstructures. In the present work the influence of number of p...
FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF HOT-ROLLED STEEL INTENDED FOR COLD FORMING
In the work, there are presented measured tension and fatigue properties of eight low-carbon steels moulded in form of 20 kg ingots that were processed by controlled regime of rolling /cooling and then exposed to simulat...
