Utilization of E-Books by the Doctoral Researchers: A Case Study of IISER, Thiruvananthapuram

Abstract

This study attempts to investigate the users perspective about e-books and e-readers, reasons and purpose of using e-books, preferred format for reading and downloading e-books, awareness about e-readers, the most used e-book reader by the researchers, the importance of e-books in research, the key constraints faced by the doctoral researchers of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research. It is found from the study that almost all the users are well aware of e-books, e-readers and e-book reading technologies as the Institutional Library is successful in providing most of the resources in electronic format.
