Fabrication of Human hair and Polypropylene and Evaluaion of Tensile Strength
Journal Title: International Journal of Modern Engineering Research (IJMER) - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
Due to increase in population, natural wealth is being exploited to a large extent as an alternative to synthetic materials. Due to this, the use of natural fibres for the reinforcement of the composites has received growing attention. Over the years, composite materials, plastics and ceramics have been the dominant emerging materials due to their low cost, fairly good mechanical properties and high aspect strength. Contemporary composite materials constitute a considerable proportion of the engineered materials market ranging from everyday products to sophisticated niche applications. Present effort has been undertaken to study the effect of human hair fibre mixed with polypropylene. Experiments were conducted with various percentages of human hair fibre such as 3%, 5%, 8% in polypropylene using Injection moulding process. Each amalgamation of proportions is tested for their mechanical properties. I t was found that Polypropylene and hair fibre polymer reinforced composite have superior flexural and impact strength than Polypropylene alone and has inferior tensile strength than simple polypropylene
Design and experimental analysis of pipe in pipe heat exchanger

The Method of Repeated Application of a Quadrature Formula of Trapezoids and Rectangles to Determine the Values of Multiple Integrals
The work deals with the construction of multi-dimensional quadrature formulas based on the method of repeated application of the quadrature formulas of rectangles and trapezoids, to calculate the multiple integrals...
A Study of Performance and Emissions of Diesel Engine Fuelled With Blends of Cotton Seed Oil Methyl Ester and Petro-Diesel
The engine performance and emission characteristics of Cotton Seed oil biodiesel (Cotton Seed Oil Methyl Ester) and its blends with petro-diesel are presented. The engine tests are conducted on a 4-Stroke Tangentially Ve...
Analysis of Temperature loss of Hot Metal during Hot Rolling Process at Steel Plant
Hot metal is travelling a long distance (around 126 m) between roughing mill and a Steckel finishing mill during hot rolling process in a steel plant which resulted in heat loss. Since, the metallurgical qualiti...
Optimization of Skin Condenser Using Bundy Tube In Place Of Copper Tube
The condenser is an important device used in the high pressure side of a refrigeration system. Its function is to remove heat of the hot vapour refrigerant discharged from the compressor. The main objective of...
