Validation of a Device for High Fidelity Correction of Pressure Signals from Fluid-Filled Systems by Harmonic Analysis
Journal Title: Journal of Cardiobiology - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Fluid-filled systems are generally used for invasive pressure measurements in cardiology, anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. Wave reflection and attenuation cause considerable signal distortion. The article presents the in vitro validation of a new commercially available device for the correction of distortion of pressures.

Matrix Metalloproteinases -14, -9 and -2 are Localized to the Podosome and Involved in Podosome Development in the A7r5 Smooth Muscle Cell
Aim: The purpose of the study was to localize matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-14, -9, and -2 in the A7r5 smooth musclecell nd to understand the interaction between these MMPs and the cytoskeleton. This interaction was o...
Transvenous Rescue of Pacemaker Lead Fragments after Laser Extraction Failure
Transvenous lead extractions may be very challenging. Experience and a wide variety of extraction tools are essential in successfully managing such procedures. We report the case of a transvenous fragment extraction afte...
Valsalva Retinopathy Associated with Choking and Heimlich Maneuver
Valsalva is “a particular form of retinopathy, pre-retinal and hemorrhagic in nature, secondary to a sudden increase in intrathoracic pressure”. Increasing intrathoracic pressure against a closed glottis diminishes venou...
Different Role of Left Atrial Size and Function in Patients with Paroxysmal versus Persistent Atrial Fibrillation. Wellnhofer: LA Size & Function in Atrial Fibrillation
Purpose: Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is established as interventional treatment in atrial fibrillation (AF). Recent studies suggest that atrial reservoir function (preload) is involved in initiation of paroxysmal AF (...
Assessment of Copper Status in Patients with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation
Background: Recent research has demonstrated disturbances of copper balance in the development of cardiovascular diseases. Copper status in patients with atrial fibrillation is still unknown. Serum or plasma copper and c...
