Validity and Reliability Analysis of An Environmental Knowledge Test (Ekt) Developed According to Humans and The Environment Unit

Abstract
In this study, we are aiming to develop a new achievement test to measure the benefits of humans and the environment unit studied with the extracurricular Nature Education Activities (NEA). Our population are the 310 students living near the Tire town of Izmir province and receiving 8th grade of their intermediate education which took the lesson we mentioned before in the previous educational year. The Environmental Knowledge Test (EKT) that developed by ourselves is used to gather the research data. Classical Test Theory is used to show the construct validity of the Environmental Knowledge Test (EKT) by doing item and test analyses. Excel 2013 computer program was used to calculate the difficulty and discrimination index of the items according to Classical Test Theory. KR-‐‑20 (=0, 78) and KR-‐‑21 (=0,73) Reliability Coefficient were used to estimate the reliability of the Environmental Knowledge Test (EKT). In conclusion of all these analyses we decided that the 20 questions Environmental Knowledge Test (EKT) we developed ourselves can be used for 7th grade students.
