Validity and Reliability of Urdu Version of Beck's Depression Inventory Among Students of Madaris (Islamic Institutes)

Abstract
Depression among university students is common. In order to find depression in Madaris students Beck's depression inventory translated in Urdu version. The aim of our study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of Urdu version of Beck's depression inventory. This pilot study was conducted during October to December 2017. Data has been collected from 35 students of Jamia tur Rasheed, Karachi. All 21 items of Beck's depression inventory achieved score of Cronbach's Alpha more than 0.75, which proves good and acceptable consistency of Urdu version of Beck's depression inventory.
