Varicella bullosa in an adult

Journal Title: Medical Journal Armed Forces - Year 2017, Vol 73, Issue 3

Abstract

Varicella or chickenpox caused by varicella zoster virus is a very common viral infection occurring worldwide with a peak in late winters and early summers. Before the advent of varicella vaccine, about 90–95% of cases occurred before twenty years of age. It is the primary infection with a viraemic stage, after which the virus persists in nerve ganglion cells, usually sensory. Disease in adults is more serious and morbidity is higher compared to children
