Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells in the Branching of Renal Arteries
Journal Title: Annals of Circulation - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
Histological, morphometric, cytophotometry and statistical methods studied isolated smooth muscle cells at sites of the renal arteries with different hemodynamic conditions in newborns. It is shown that the population of smooth muscle cells on the straight sections of the renal arteries represented subpopulations of small, medium and large mononuclear cells. In the area of the arteries blood flow dividers, characterized by turbulence, twists, recycling and complex distribution of shear stress on the vascular wall, there is a pronounced polymorphism in the structure of the arteries of the population. Smooth muscle cells in these hemodynamic conditions, undergo hypertrophy and hyperplasia polyploidization. Phenotypic modulation myocytes occurring in arteries with high branching, anastomosing, many turns may initiate the development of hypertension, heart failure, ischemia, diabetes and obesity.

Zero-Flow Pressure of the Cerebral Microcirculatory Bed at Concomitant Traumatic Brain Injury
Zero-flow pressure (ZFP) is an important parameter of a microcirculation. The aim is to determine the status of the ZFP at concomitant traumatic brain injury with and without the development of intracranial hematomas. M...
Blood Cell Concentration Oscillations in Healthy and Tumors Affected Organisms
Daily oscillations in the concentrations of segmented neutrophils and lymphocytes in mice and humans (both healthy and affected by acute and genetically inherited leukemia, solid tumors and some inflammatory diseases) we...
Is There an Upper Limit to Cardiopulmonary Bypass Times?
Background: There are no safe operations in cardiac surgery. Every operation can possibly go wrong. We therefore retrospectively evaluated all cardiac operations lasting more than 300 minutes of bypass time at our instit...

Biomechanical Bases of Forecasting Occurrence of Carotid Atherosclerosis
The purpose of this study was to investigate changes of the effective and shear stresses level on the surface of atherosclerotic plaques in comparison with the healthy vessel wall, as well as distribution of the hemodyna...
