Vertebroplasty in vertebral compression fractures – literature review

Abstract
Vertebral compression fractures are the most common complication of osteoporosis (1.45 per 1000 women yearly). The main symptom of these fractures is chronic back pain and limitation of movement. Vertebroplasty is a modern minimally invasive operative technique that can significantly reduce pain and improve the quality of life in patients with vertebral compression fractures.
