Vibration Energy Harvesting Potential for Turbomachinery Applications
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2018, Vol 10, Issue 1
Abstract
The vibration energy harvesting process represents one of the research directions for increasing power efficiency of electric systems, increasing instrumentation nodes autonomy in hard to reach locations and decreasing total system mass by eliminating cables and higher-power adapters. Research based on the possibility of converting vibration energy into useful electric energy is used to evaluate the potential of its use on turbomachinery applications. Aspects such as the structure and characteristics of piezoelectric generators, harvesting networks, their setup and optimization, are considered. Finally, performance test results are shown using piezoelectric systems on a turbine engine.

Controlling the Motion of a Planar 3-DOF Manipulator Using PID Controllers
This paper mainly presents a method to model the 3-DOF manipulator with PID controller in Matlab-SimMechanics and the way to find out optimal parameters in the PID controller including: proportional gain, integral gain a...
Wind tunnel CESAR model
This document comprises the geometrical definition of a Fowler flap for the LC2B laminar airfoil provided by DLR. For the purpose of small aircraft, the single slotted Fowler flap for the LC2B laminar airfoil was designe...
Loads in the design of flight vehicles
The calculation of flight loads is a critical part of air vehicle design. On the other hand, the prediction of accurate loads is a sophisticated and complex process that requires skilled and experienced engineers. They m...
Continuous defects: dislocations and disclinations in finite elasto-plasticity with initial dislocations heterogeneities
Within the constitutive framework of second order plasticity, following [4,5], under the assumptions that the plastic distortion is not compatible, and the plastic connection is not compatible with the plastic distortion...
An impact study of a capsule with a rigid wall using the SPH approach
Impact problems have always been of interest in the Aerospace industry because events such as “bird-strikes” occur quite often and necessary studies must be performed to observe the behavior of structures during the impa...
