Loads in the design of flight vehicles
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
The calculation of flight loads is a critical part of air vehicle design. On the other hand, the prediction of accurate loads is a sophisticated and complex process that requires skilled and experienced engineers. They must integrate results from wind tunnel tests, computer simulations, historical data and empirical formulations into a number of loads cases that provide a realistic assessment of the flight vehicle’s environment. Under these conditions, the vehicle must satisfy requirements imposed by regulatory agencies as part of the vehicle certification process. Loads and boundary conditions can be associated to either the finite element model or the underlying geometry. By associating loads and boundary conditions to the geometry the finite element model mesh and elements can be modified without redefining and applying the loads to the model. Loads and boundary conditions are associated to the model geometry by default.

A new approach in the numerical simulation for the blood flow in large vessels
In this paper we are proposing a new approach in the numerical simulation of the blood flow in large vessels. The initial conditions are set to be compatible with the non-Newtonian model used. Numerical experiments in st...
Responsibility of the Russian Federation for Shooting Down a Malaysian Passenger Aircraft on 17th July 2014
On 17 July 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down over Eastern Ukraine. On board Boeing 777 there were 283 passengers and 15 crew members who all lost their lives. The victims’ f...
Analytical solutions for some problems of optimum with applications in air traffic and economics
Analytical solutions for some problems of optimum with applications in air traffic and economics are given. For air traffic minimal distances between commercial airplanes (flight corridors) are imposed considering variou...
Algorithm for the aircraft trajectories considering No Fly Zones for a Flight Management System
In this paper, optimal four dimensions trajectories (three space dimensions and one time dimension) are designed using new conceived algorithms, to connect all waypoints specified in the flight plan of an aircraft. The d...
Automation of the inner design of the aircraft
The task of forming the wind-swept surface according to the results of the aircraft’s inner design is described. The approach of the integration of natural and virtual prototyping in the design of equipment compartments...
