Views of parents about music lessons in secondary schools (sample of Niğde city)<p>Ortaokul müzik dersine yönelik veli görüşleri (Niğde ili örneği)

Abstract
The goal of this research is to determine the views of parents about music lessons in secondary schools within the territories of Niğde City; discover the attitudes of parents to music lessons in secondary schools according to their views; and develop the recommendations for current music lessons. Research is descriptive. Related data has been collected with a interview form that was developed by researchers according to experts’ review. In the analysis of data collected, the content analysis has been used. The universe of this research consists of the parents of the students who study in the education periods of 2013-2014/2014-2015, in secondary schools under Provincial Directorate for National Education in Niğde City; the sample group is 622 parents of students who study in the class 5,6 7 and 8 of secondary schools “Selçuk, Fahri Kirt, Fatih, Cumhuriyet, Azatlı Küllüce, İsa Yüksel, Atatürk, Gazi, Zeynep Ecemiş, Murtaza Naile Uyanık and Kanuni” that were randomly elected. According to research findings; the parents of the students in 5th class give importance to music lesson and are pleased with music lesson; the majority of parents of the students in 6th class regards music lessons as just a content, and their children love/interested in music lessons; the parents of the students in 7th class indicate that their children love music lesson and also find it necessary; the parents of the students in 8th class indicate that their children love music lesson and are interested in music lesson. Moreover, the views parents of the students in class 5, 6, 7 and 8 are based on lesson and student; these views are for affective field. ÖzetAraştırmanın amacı, ortaokul müzik dersine ilişkin veli görüşlerini “Niğde İli Örneği” üzerinden belirlemek, bu görüşler doğrultusunda öğrenci velilerinin mevcut müzik derslerine yönelik tutumlarını ortaya koymak ve etkili bir müzik dersi için öneriler geliştirmektir. Araştırma betimsel niteliktedir. İlgili veriler uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yapılandırılmamış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen nitel verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2013-2014/2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yıllarında Niğde İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı ortaokullarda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin velileri, örneklemini ise; bu öğrenciler arasından tesadüfî örneklem yoluyla seçilen Selçuk, Fahri Kirt, Fatih, Cumhuriyet, Azatlı Küllüce, İsa Yüksel, Atatürk, Gazi, Zeynep Ecemiş, Murtaza Naile Uyanık ve Kanuni Ortaokullarının 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıfında öğrenim gören 622 öğrencinin velisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma bulguları doğrultusunda; Ortaokul 5. sınıf öğrenci velilerinin çoğunluğunun müzik dersini önemli bulduğu, çocuğunun müzik dersini sevdiği ve müzik dersinden memnun olduğu; Ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrenci velilerinin çoğunluğunun müzik dersini içerik olarak değerlendirdiği, çocuğunun müzik dersini sevdiği ve çocuğunun müzik dersine ilgili olduğunu belirttiği; Ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrenci velilerinin çoğunluğunun çocuğunun müzik dersini sevdiği, müzik dersini gerekli ve önemli buldukları; Ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrenci velilerinin çoğunluğunun çocuğunun müzik dersini sevdiği, müzik dersini güzel bulduğu ve çocuğunun müzik dersine ilgili olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca ortaokul 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrenci velilerinin konuya ilişkin görüşlerinin ders ve öğrenci odaklı olduğu, bu görüşlerin de büyük çoğunlukla duyuşsal alana yönelik olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
