Abstract
The article introduces into the scientific circle still unknown documents related to the start of teaching Religious Education in the cities of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod. The author analyzes the preconditions for passing the law which allowed teaching religion to Orthodox pupils, stressing that the Orthodox community had been discriminated by the Government for ten years. The names of the teachers of Religious Education and certain students who were taught the subject have been mentioned.
