VÝZNAM VEDECKEJ ŠKOLY EMILA MAZÚRA A JÁNA DRDOŠA PRE SLOVENSKÚ GEOGRAFIU

Abstract
The article tries to find the answere on the question, how the Slovak geographical community reflects the scientific, philosophical and strategical message of Professors Emil Mazúr and Ján Drdoš, who were leading personalities of the Institute of Geography, Slovak Academy of Sciences for many years. As one can state, mentioned importance as well as message survived, overcoming a com- plicated development and significant transformation. If Landscape synthesis is understood as the core and the culmination of their scientific school, is possible to say, that their continuation is in integrated approaches, developed at the Institute of Geography mostly via integrative geographical researches realised by the geoekological research, landscape planning, research and mapping of land cover/land use, integrative river basin research or integrative riverine landscape research, environmetally oriented research, philosophi- cally oriented studies of meta-scientifical character as well as in the field of the elaboration of geographically relevant aspects of sustainability and quality of life.
