Ways of Improving the Reliability of Supply of Selected Important Municipal Customers in Municipalities
Journal Title: Acta Energetica - Year 2016, Vol 26, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper reviews the most important ways to improve the reliability of supply of consumers, i.e. the increase in the number of directions of supply, use of grid and system automatic controls, and installation of distributed generation sources. The order of priority of municipal loads in terms of electricity and heat supply continuity is then analysed. The concept of so-called energy mini centres containing important loads and distributed generation sources for the supply of these loads connected to medium and low voltage grids is presented in detail. Practical examples of the distributed generation solutions applied in a Silesian municipality are also given. The reliability of selected objects was evaluated using the NIEZ method developed at the Institute of Power Engineer-ing and Control Systems of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

Evaluation of The Operation and Improvement of the Stability of the Factory Power Network, Taking into Account the Uncertainty of the Network Model Parameters
There was analysed the operation of a factory power network working in island mode and cooperating with the Polish National Power System (PNPS) in selected transient states. It was assumed that two generating units: one...
Improving Power Quality in AC Supply Grids
This paper describes a digital and actual model of the UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) integrated system for power quality improvement. The UPQC’s design and its connection to an AC supply grid, 1-phase and 3-ph...
Proposed Amendments to Reactive Energy Billing
This paper describes possible amendments to the rules of reactive energy billing in the tariffs in Poland. Modifications in the tariffs to improve their motivational function for distribution system users are identified...
Testing Situation Awareness Network for the Electrical Power Infrastructure
The contemporary electrical power infrastructure is exposed to new types of threats. The cause of such threats is related to the large number of new vulnerabilities and architectural weaknesses introduced by the extensiv...
Determination of Connection Capacity in the HV Closed Network by the use of a Black-box Optimization – a Case Study
The current legislation imposes an obligation on power system operators to regularly determine and publish connection capacities of transmission and distribution network nodes. Currently, the coherent node method is used...
