Welding Imperfections in Surfaced Layers
Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Spawalnictwa - Year 2017, Vol 61, Issue 3
Abstract
The article presents the overview of various welding imperfections based on the classification of PN-EN ISO 6520-1:2009 and formed during surfacing. The article discusses specific surfacing-related imperfections and unclassified in the above-named standard as well as imperfections related to special requirements concerning surfaced layers.

Changes in the Geometrical Shape of a Liquid Metal Pool in Relation to a Heat Input during a Welding Process
The article aims to present a number of factors affecting the geometrical shape of a liquid metal pool when making welded joints, i.e. factors increasing or decreasing a heat input including the density and efficiency of...
Robotic Arc Surfacing in the Additive Technique-Aided Creation of Models
Previously used reconditioning of worn machinery parts based on welding methods, primarily arc surfacing and thermal spraying, enabled the restoring of nominal shapes and dimensions as well as other parameters and functi...
DIN 2304 – Quality requirements for adhesive bonding processes
Today’s adhesives are high quality products. Their proper use normally leads to a zero-‑defect- production. If bonding failures nevertheless occur, more than 90% these failures result from failures in the adhesive bondin...
IIW: Developing Global Best Practices for the Fatigue Assessment of Welded Structures
The International Institute of Welding (IIW) acts as the global network of knowledge exchange concerning the joining of materials. One of the working teams, i.e. Committee XIII, is dedicated to new research results and t...
Assessing the Susceptibility of Welded Joints to Cold Cracking in the CTS Test
The article presents the CTS tests used when assessing the susceptibility of welded joints to cold cracking as well as test results related to steel 7CrMoVTiB10-10. The research work involved macro and microscopic metall...
