Work Tolerance of Mathematics Teachers in Relation to Teaching Performance: Basis for Intervention

Abstract

This study determined the relationship between work tolerance and Teaching performance of the Mathematics teachers of the District of Isabela 1 for School Year 2023-2024. A researcher-made questionnaire was administered to 96 samples as respondents of the study. Frequency and percent distribution, Mean, Mann-Whitney U-Test and Kruskal-Wallis H-Test, and Goodman-Kruskal’s Gamma (G) or Gamma Coefficient were the statistical tools used in the study. The results revealed that the level of work tolerance of mathematics teachers in terms of physical demands is high and very high in terms of psychological demands. The results also revealed that the teaching performance of the mathematics teachers, based on their IPCRF rating, is outstanding. In terms of differences, there is no significant difference between the level of work tolerance of mathematics teachers and sex, age, socio-economic status, and number of years in teaching. A significant difference is found between the level of work tolerance of mathematics teachers and highest educational attainment. In terms of relationship, the level of work tolerance of mathematics teachers does not significantly affect their teaching performance.
