WPŁYWY POLITYCZNE W STRAŻACH POŻARNYCH WOJEWÓDZTWA KIELECKIEGO W OKRESIE MIĘDZYWOJENNYM

Abstract
In the late twenties of the twentieth century , in the region of Kielce, there were 687 voluntary fire brigades, which consisted of more than twenty thousand members in total. In terms of political sympathies, among the members of 224 fire brigades (32,60%), peasant parties (Polish Peasant Party “Piast”, Polish Peasant Party “Liberation” and Peasants' Party) were dominating. The second most popular force, whose supporters were prevailing in 173 associations (25,18%), was the National Democratic Party and the Christian Democrats. The third force were the Socialists, whose supporters were in 25 fire brigades (3.64%) in the region.
