Abstract
The sense of balance is an ability to maintain a taken position in space with no help from other people and need to lean against stable objects. Clinical tests of balance are based on both static and dynamic assessment of the position of the body in space with eyes open and closed. The ability to maintain the starting position and/or the extent and quality of movement are assessed. The paper presents selected clinical tests used for the examination of balance as a component of proprioception. Keywords: clinical
